To be competitive in the GT-class, Porsche built this model and called it Carrera (in memory of the successes at Carrera Panamericana) and it was equipped with a 2,687 cm³ 6-cylinder boxer engine that developed 210 hp and allowed to reach a top speed of 240 kph. The Carrera RS 2.7 weighed only 900 kg. A feature that allowed you to immediately recognize this model was the "duck tail" spoiler integrated in the plastic bonnet. Only 1,036 cars were manufactured.
