METRO for HACHETTE-ABARTH COLLECTION (vol. 62) Abarth 205 A "streamlined" Mille Miglia 1950 n° 533 medium grey

The small sedan Abarth 205 A Chassis 101 was bodied with front and back extensions in view of the Mille Miglia of 1950 to make it more efficient in terms of aerodynamics. Carlo Abarth, a genius of advertising, fixed the aerodynamic extensions with joints Dzus, whose Abarth was the sole importer, which allowed a rapid removal of the extensions themselves. On 23 April 1950 it started at the Mille Miglia with the crew Guido Scagliarini/Cornelius Maffiodo proving to be very fast but unfortunately it was forced to withdraw for mechanical problems. It was equipped with a 1,098 cm³ engine with 83 hp and a weight of 780 kg which allowed it to reach a top speed of about 190 kph.
