This car was the third (despite the numbering) and the last 205 built in the Abarth workshops. The Abarth 205 cars were completely designed by the new company and did not derive from Cisitalia cars: they had a steel box frame and the bodywork was designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Alfredo Vignale. The 205-102 featured a 1098 cm³ engine that developed 83 hp, weighed 780 kg and could reach a top speed of about 190 kph. It raced at the Mille Miglia in 1950 with the crew Carlo Scagliarini/Luigi Garrone and, despite some mechanical problems, it completed the route in 16 hours, 9 minutes and 46 seconds and finished in 31st place overall and 9th in 1100 Sport class. Note that the car showed the raw aluminum unpainted sheets, as it was completed at the very last minute before the race.
