In 1950, Carlo Abarth had abandoned the race due to financial problems, devoting himself to the production of the very famous Abarth silencers. In 1955 the production of mufflers was booming and so Abarth could start thinking about the competitions again. In this perspective, he produced the 207 A with box frame, engine derived from the Fiat 1100/103 and aluminum body built by Mario Boano and designed by Giovanni Michelotti. The designer from Turin put on the right side, prominently, the muffler of the car to refer to the most successful product of the Abarth. The car was equipped with a 1,089 cm³ engine that developed 66 hp and with a weight of 522 kg it could reach 165 kph.
